Let us tell you the heartbreaking yet empowering story of Kiarna... 
Kiarna was placed into foster care when she was 5. Life for Kiarna as a 5 year old was was unstable, chaotic and confusing. Her mother struggled with bipolar disorder and could not give her the attention and care she craved and needed.

When she turned 11, her mother passed away from a drug overdose and her father abandoned her. Sadly, this is not an uncommon story for children in care. This lead to learning difficulties and mental health issues for Kiarna as a teenager. 

But Kiarna's life changed when her "Pyjama Angel" mentor was sent to her from The Pyjama Foundation. Dianne was a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen to, and a constant friend she could count on. She helped instill a love of learning, and helped Kiarna to build confidence and resilience in herself.

Now, Kiarna wants to give back and help other children in care to achieve their dreams. She has now trained to become a Pyjama Angel herself and wants others to know-
