Did you know that 92% of children in foster care have a below average reading level?

By the age of seven, most foster kids have a vocabulary of only 4000 words which is far less than their peers who know an average 9000 words. This means foster kids struggle socially and academically; hindering their learning and life outcomes.

  • You can help us bridge this gap by donating your favourite word.
  • You can donate a new word every day throughout the campaign.
  • You can choose what you think your word is worth to children in care.

Your favourite donated word will appear on The Pyjama Foundation's website and will be shared to foster kids who are learning to read and write with the help of their Pyjama Angels.

Donate a word now to support foster kids with their learning, life skills and confidence.
