Charlie's Story

Could you imagine being abandoned as a child? Neglected and left all alone. Charlie experienced this when he was less than 5 minutes old.

Everything in life was against Charlie from the moment he was born. He was born 14 weeks premature, sick, and alone.

Fortunately, he was taken under the wings of the midwife who was there on the day he was born and who remains his foster carer to this day.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. Charlie was only 3 years old when he met another real-life angel, his Pyjama Angel Renee.

Renee helped Charlie focus on his education – and more importantly, she built up his confidence self-esteem.

Fast-forward to today, over a 15-year period Charlie has had the ongoing support of The Pyjama Foundation. 

He is the only person in his family to complete high school, and is now in university, pursuing his dream of becoming a social worker. He dreams of making a difference to the lives of vulnerable kids, just like himself.
